Kennedy

She’s an artist at heart, starting with painting before finding her way into sewing. On her very first day, she was handed a gown with a full ballroom bustle, a needle and thread, and a quick question, “Can you hand sew?”

I had her begin on the lining, the part no one would ever see. Instead of needing to catch up, she met me halfway. Her stitching was so clean and precise that it wasn’t long before I trusted her with the main fabric.

Still in high school, she joins us during school holidays and a few afternoons after class. She has a keen eye for detail and a natural instinct for fine work, specialising in hand sewing, steaming, and all things creative. The sewing machine is not quite her thing, but give her a needle and thread and she is in her element.

She is also the one who spot-checks gowns after cleaning, making sure everything is exactly as it should be. Nothing gets past her.

And just to round it out, she has a bit of sass and a quick wit that keeps the team entertained!
