Before and After
She needed it
Hemmed. And wasn’t fussed if we couldn’t fit in extra alterations as there wasn’t much time (the entire wedding planning was all complete in a matter of weeks.)
So she was extra grateful when we also
Tightened straps
Added a hook and eye to the top of the zip
Cleaned the dress (it came in with a dirt mark and to prevent the risk of a water mark we cleaned the entire dress and it came up whiter than before!
Steamed. And my favourite little tweak – it had too much fabric at the sides and without the time to alter it properly we did a quick solution of sewing elastic into theSides to bring it in a couple of inches. It worked a treat for a fraction of the time and therefore price!
Have a look at the before and afters and you’ll see.
I feel like sometimes it’s the little alterations that make all the difference to feel like it has the couture finish. A dress that appears like it was made for your body straight off the rack.
