What to Expect: Bridal Alterations with Rachel’s Custom Sewing

Before Your Fitting

  • [ ] Secure your spot early – Lock in your date as soon as you know it (even before you have your dress).

  • [ ] You'll hear from us – We’ll be in touch around 12 weeks out to organise your first fitting.

  • [ ] Bring your wedding shoes + any shapewear – These help us tailor your dress perfectly.

First Fitting (Approx. 12 Weeks Out)

  • [ ] We’ll go over your vision, pin alterations, and take detailed notes.

  • [ ] You’ll meet our team and see our beautiful studio space.

  • [ ] You’ll receive a summary email with everything we discussed.

Second Fitting (Approx. 4–6 Weeks Out)

  • [ ] Try on your gown with the first round of alterations.

  • [ ] Final adjustments (like hems, zips, or bustles) will be pinned if needed.

  • [ ] You'll start to see the magic come together!

Final Fitting + Pick-Up (1–2 Weeks Out)

  • [ ] Try on your finished gown and ensure it’s perfect.

  • [ ] We’ll teach you how to bustle the dress if needed.

  • [ ] You’ll take your gown home, beautifully packed, steamed and wedding-day ready. (Oh, and with a little gift from us, an emergency wedding day pack)

After the Wedding

  • [ ] Drop off your dress for professional cleaning + preservation.

  • [ ] We’ll send before/after photos and videos.

  • [ ] You’ll receive a keepsake box with your dress safely stored.
