at Your First Fitting

The Pre-Visit

Before your appointment, ensure you have everything you need for a successful fitting. Please bring the shoes and any shapewear you plan on wearing with your garment. These items are crucial for achieving the perfect fit. To schedule your appointment, simply use our convenient booking link.

We will confirm your booking via email, remind you 8 days prior and text you 2 hours before with a handy reminder of our location address.

At the Fitting

When you arrive, ring the bell, and you'll be warmly greeted and shown into the fitting room. Here’s what will happen next:

  1. Getting Ready: Change into your garment, shapewear, and the bra (or go without) as you plan to wear on your big day.

  2. Avoid wearing perfume, lotion, or heavy makeup. Delicate fabrics can easily absorb scents and stains, which may be difficult to remove.

  3. Consultation: Our expert team will then begin the fitting process, attentively listening to your needs and desires while offering professional suggestions to enhance the fit and look of your gown.

  4. Pinning and Notes: We will carefully pin the garment to tailor it to your body, taking detailed notes on the necessary alterations.

  5. Invoicing: At the end of the session, we'll provide an itemised (a la cart) invoice for the alterations. This can be paid in full or split in half with the first instalment that day and the remainder upon collection of your garment. We accept cash, credit card (we have a terminal so even your phone will be suitable) or bank transfer.

After the Fitting

Once your garment is ready, we will send you a text to arrange a follow-up appointment or pick-up.

  • Wedding dresses: Your first fitting will take 45–60 minutes.

    Formal dresses: Typically 20–30 minutes.

    Everyday or general alterations: Around 15–20 minutes.

  • Wedding dresses: Most require 1–2 interim fittings before final pick-up.

    Formal dresses: Occasionally need an interim if sizing is still changing.

    Other garments: Usually just the first fitting and a pick-up.

  • Please bring the shoes you’ll wear with the outfit and any shapewear or undergarments you plan to wear. These help us achieve the most accurate fit.

  • We strongly recommend waiting until you have these. Fitting without them can result in incorrect hem lengths or fit adjustments.

  • Yes! You're welcome to bring a support person or friend. Just keep in mind that space is limited and a calm environment helps us stay focused.

  • We’ll talk through your event date, fitting goals, and required alterations. We’ll pin the garment, take photos and notes, and schedule the next steps if needed.

  • We’re used to managing this. For bridal and formal dresses, we often plan an interim fitting closer to the event to double-check everything. Just keep us in the loop.

  • Simply use the reschedule link in your confirmation email, or contact us directly. We appreciate at least 48 hours' notice if possible.
